Information: Dr. Wade H. Rardin, 65, chief anesthesiologist at Raleigh General Hospital, died last Tuesday in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. Born April 20, 1914, at Route 1, Sherman near Ravenswood, he was the son of the late William DeWitt and Amy Cox Rardin. He was the nephew of the late Porter H. Rardin of Ripley. Dr. Rardin was chief of anesthesiology at the Raleigh General Hospital from 1943 until 1979 and previously had been with the C&O Hospital in Huntington from 1941 to 1943. He was a 1932 graduate of Ravenswood High School, received his AB degree from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va., in 1936; his BS from West Virginia University School of Medicine in 1938, and MD from the Medical College of Virginia in 1941. He was chariman of the board of trustees at Raleigh General Hospital, past president of the Raleigh County Medical Society, and a member of the W. Va. Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association and the Southern Medical Association. Dr. Rardin was also a member of the Beckley Presbyterian Church, the Rotarians, Beckley Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Black Knight Country Club and Glade Springs Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Iris V. Rardin; one daughter, Mrs. Steve (Jeane) Rardin Bibb; one granddaughter, Stephanie Love Bibb, both of Raleigh, N. C.; one brother, Glen Rardin of Roanoke, Va., and three sisters, Mrs. Ada Archer of Sandyville, Mrs. Addie Breckenridge of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. Bessie Truman of Mineral Wells; three nephews and three nieces. Entombment was in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.
