Information: Ranson, Charles W. {13 July 1924 - 19 July 1944} Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Emma Chapel Church for Sgt. Charles W. Ranson, another of this sections war heroes whose body was brought home to be buried with his kinsmen. The Rev. Vairl Winter officiated at the services and the Veterans of Foreign Wars conducted ritualistic services at the grave. Sgt. Ranson was killed over Munich, Germany on July 19, 1944 and was 20 years of age at the time. He was a gunner with the 15th Air Force stationed at Foggia, Italy. He was a graduate of Poca High School and before entering the service in Sept. 1943 lived with his parents at Liberty. He was a son of Mrs. Ella Lou Warner Ranson (3rd wife 1883 1970) of Liberty and the late Finney S. Ranson, and is also survived by a step brother, Theodore R. Ranson (1 March 1910 30 Oct 1972) of Liberty, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Cottrill of Poca and Mrs. Jerry Fox of Washington, D. C.
