Information: Wanda Jean ""Kerns"" Ramsey of Dale City, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2012 after a sudden battle with leukemia at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington DC. Wanda was born February 6, 1957 in Ripley, West Virginia. She was a graduate of the 1975 class of Ripley High School. She worked as a bookkeeper at Shoppers Food Warehouse in Northern Virginia for 30 years. Survivors left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband of 37 years, Richard Ramsey of Dale City VA; daughter, Carrie Jo Burger (David) of Dale City VA; son, Brian Ramsey of Dale City VA; daughter, Morgan Cruz (Nathan) of Fort Riley KA; loving parents, Creel and Betty Kerns of Sandyville; siblings, Pam Stepp of Charleston, Karen Pitts of Sandyville, Steve (Teresa) Kerns of Sandyville and Sharon (David) Stepp of Sandyville; grandchildren, Mackenzie Ramsey and Noah Cruz; along with one niece and four nephews; and mother-in-law, Lucy Ramsey, of Ripley. The lights of Wanda's life were her two granchildren, Mackenzie Ramsey and Noah Cruz, her favorite pastimes were spending time with them, reading and quilting. She was looking forward to the newest addition to her family, Mya Cruz, who is expected in June. Funeral services will be at 4 pm on May 24 at Waybright Funeral Home with Pastor David Fields officiating. Burial will be immediately following the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 pm to 4 pm on Thursday. The family is asking for memorial contributions to be made in lieu of flowers at Waybright Funeral Home in the name of Wanda Ramsey, 511 South Church St., Ripley WV 25271.
