Information: SANDYVILLE - Robert R. Raines and his wife Jo M. Raines passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008, at their house. Bob was a graduate of Ripley High School, an auto body man for many years and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge at Cottageville. Jo was born July 14, 1936, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Martin Richard and Mary Williams McBride. She was valedictorian of her high school class at Gilmore High School, an avid supported of Jackson County Jr. Fair and on the Board of Directors for the 4-H Jackson County Foundation and was a 4-H leader for many years. She was also a columnist for the Jackson Herald and a longtime and loved employee at the Ripley Wal-Mart. Both Bob and Jo were members of the Comet United Methodist Church. They are survived by their children, Jeff Raines of Ravenswood and Robin Hall and her husband Jeff, of Statts Mill; grandchildren, Robert Devin Raines, Harold Daron Hall and his wife, Lisa, Adam Robert Hall and Danielle Karen Hall and great-grandchildren, Carter Harold Hall and Baylee Dannielle Hall. Jo is also survived by a sister, Jean Wilkinson of Parkersburg. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2008, at the McCoy's Conference Center, Ripley, with Paster Stephen Rhodes and Mr. John Gunther officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McCoy's Conference Center. Parsons-Waybright and Vail Funeral Homes, Ripley is serving the family.
