  <p>Information: Mary E. Raines, 93, of Ripley, died Tuesday evening, Nov. 18, following a long illness, in Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.  She was born in Belgrove, a daughter of the late Fetus and Ella Doolittle Slaughter.  She was a homemaker.  She is survived by four sons, Blair Raines of Texas, Benjamin Raines of Streetsboro, Ohio, Starling Raines of Lindon, Ohio, and Carlton Raines of High Point, N. C.; four daughters, Louisa Combs of Mineral Wells, Doris Randolph of Columbus, Ohio, Martha Hamon of Ripley, Delsie Burton of Sarasota, Fla.; 38 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Raines; by one son, Clyde Raines; two daughters, Irene Sherrif and Elaine Rowley.  Memorial services for Elaine Rowley, her daughter who died Monday, and funeral services for Raines were Saturday at the Ripley Tabernacle with the Rev. Orland Reynolds and the Rev. Bernard Ferrell officiating.  Burial was in Otterbein Cemetery, Evans.</p>
