  <p>Information: Ernest Otis Raines, 70, of Ripley, passed away suddenly at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.  He was born February 6, 1943 at Ripley, son of the late Otis and Ruby Comer Raines.  Ernest was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He worked in construction for many years being employed by Lee-Mac and coal companies.  He also worked at the ABC Store in Ripley, but recently was self-employed along with his wife, Diane, with Raines Upholstery.  He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Diane Spaulding Raines; son, Ernie Raines and his wife Carey of Lake Monticello VA; daughter-in-law, Sonia Raines of Gay; grandchildren, Kayla Poling and her husband Adam, Carson and Dawson Raines; uncles, Everett Raines (Sharlyn) and Cleo (Freda) Raines and aunt Dorothy ""Dot"" (Jack) Atkinson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chuck Raines.  Funeral service will be 7:30 pm Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Arnold Conant officiating.  Friends may call from 5 p.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.  Those who wish to bring food to the family may bring it to the funeral home on Friday.  There will be a time of food and fellowship in honor of Ernest.  It will be held in the Parsons-Vail Family Center located inside the funeral home following the service.</p>
