Information: KENNA WOMAN ENDS HER LIFE- A 31-year old Kenna woman was found dead of a gunshot wound at her home there Monday afternoon. She was Mrs. Dorlene Boggess, wife of Hillard Boggess. Officers, after making an investigation, said that the wounds were self-inflicted. She used a shotgun to take her life, and her body was found in a bedroom. She was alone in the home at the time. Her husband was away at work, and the children were at school. Her body was discovered by a neighbor, Mrs. Lutie Sheets, who went to the Boggess home to invite her to attend a party at the Kenna school Monday night. Neighbors had not heard the shot. Mrs. Sheets notified Sheriff Charles Coffman shortly before three o'clock Monday afternoon and officers went to the home immediately. She had left a note, the contents of which were not divulged by the officers. Her husband said that it was his wife's handwriting. She was born on March 8, 1932 at Kenna and was a daughter of Otho and Melissa Godbey Skeen. In addition to the husband and her mother, other survivors include a son, Bernard; two daughters, Barbara and Linda, all at home; two brothers, Herman and Kermit Skeen and a half-brother, Guy Boggess, all of Kenna, and two sisters, Mrs. Justine Castle and Mrs. .... Hackney, both of Charleston. The funeral service will be held this (Wednesday) afternoon at two o'clock at the Emma Chapel church with Rev. William Lucas officiating and the burial with the Parsons funeral directors in charge will be in the church cemetery.
