Information: KENNA - Dempsey ""Shorty"" Boggess, 76, of Kenna, Jackson County, died May 11, 1997, in General Division, CAMC, after a short illness. He was a Christian, a retired electrician from Libby-Ownes-Ford Glass, an Army veteran of World War II and a lifetime member of VFW Post 8129, Charleston. Surviving: sons, Rick of Kenna, Kester of Clendenin; daughters, Shirley Harrison of Attica, Ohio, Donna Duff of Kenna, Shelia Boggess of Charleston, Kay Loar of New Metamoras, Ohio, Kim McCready of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Boone Boggess of Kenna; sisters, Vada Phillips of Columbus, Ohio, Juanita Bostic of Sissonville; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. Stanley Shaffer officiating. Burial with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 6669 will be in Fisher Cemetery, Kenna. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
