Information: Monnie May Lytton Priest, 85, died November 28, 1991, in South Baltimore Hospital after a long illness. A native of Jackson County, she was born Feb. 1, 1906, a daughter of Ellis Bertie and Nancy Ernestine Price Lytton, formerly of Ripley. Monnie attended Ripley High School and was employed for many years as bookkeeper for A.M. Carson Store. After its closing she accepted a position with O.J. Morrison Store. She was a member of Ripley United Brethren Church, and the Ripley Chapter of Rebecca Lodge. After her marriage to John M. Priest, they made their home in Glen Burnice, Md., where she spent 10 years employed by Hochschild Kohn Dept. Store and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving: son, Edward E. Priest and daughter-in-law Betteann; grandchildren, Julie, John and Amanda Priest; sisters, Blondis Hill, Winfield, WV., Bertha French, Nitro, WV, Dorothy Tabb, Kearneysville, WV; sister-in-law, Virginia Lytton, Nitro, WV. Funeral services were held at the Bethel Baptist Church, Dec. 2, with the Rev. M.L. Jackson officiating. Interment was in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Shingleton Funeral Home of Glen Burnie was in charge of arrangements. The family request Memorials be made in her name to Alzheimer's Belvedere Chapter.
