Information: Rosemary Nell Faber Platt, 44, of Charleston, died Monday, Feb 22, 1999, in CAMC, General Division, after a long illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Kanawha County, a registered nurse with 20 years of service and a graduate of Charleston High School and Alderson-Broaddus College School of Nursing.  She attended West Virginia University, where she was one of the first women accepted into the WVU Marching Band.  She was a member of Charleston Baptist Temple, where she was active on the Diaconate Board, and Sigma Theta Tau, the National Nursing honorary Xi Tau Chapter of the University of Charleston. She was an active distance runner, winning numerous awards, including the Steve Prefontaine Award for Most Courageous Runner, Charleston Distance Run 1994.  Her contributions to women's health were in an Association of University Women documentary ""Women of West Virginia"" and she was a Kanawha City real estate developer.  Surviving:  husband, William Platt; daughter, Rhiannon B. Platt of Charleston; mother, Sarah Daniel Faber of Charleston; sisters, Sarah Lee Frail and Carolyn Faber, both of Charleston; brothers, J. Daniel Faber of Charleston, George H. Faber of Belleville, Ill.; two nephews.  Service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Baptist Temple with the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating.  Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home, Charleston.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Rosemary Faber Platt Nursing Scholarship Fund at Alderson-Broaddus College, Development Office, 500 College Hill, Philippi, WV 26416-9989.
