Information: Mrs. Dora Kessel Pinnell, 93 years old, died at her home in Ripley last Friday after being ill for the past month. Her condition had been critical for several days and death had been expected. She was the widow of the late Aleander Pinnell and was a native of the Parchment sectionof the county where the family lived until they moved to Ripley a number of years ago. She was member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church where the funeral service was held Sunday afternoon with Rev. Robert M. Fuqua officiating and the burial was in the church cemetery with the Parsons undertakers in charge. Mrs. Pinnell is survived by five sons: Fred M. Pinnell, Perry, Ia., W.Perry Pinnell, French Creek, W.Va., Paul Mason and Walter Pinnell of Ripley and Otis H. Pinnell, of El Paso, Texas. There is one daughter: Mrs. Lillie Lewis of Ripley, and one brother, E.D. Kessel of Given, W. Va., and five sisters: Mrs. Clara Sayre, Mrs. O.P. Davis, Ripley, Mrs. J.M. Bibbee, Charleston, Mrs. J.J. Frey, Dunbar, and Mrs. H.E. Lewis, Buffalo. There are 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The body remained at the Parsons Funeral Home here until one hour before the time for the service when it was taken to the church. Mrs Pinnell was born on Parchemet in Jackson County on April 16, 1863 during Civil War days. Her parents were James M. Kessel and Mazilla Harpold Kessel, pioneer residents of that section of Jackson County. She grew to womanhood in that community and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. In 1881 she married Aleander Pinnell who died in 1923. It was a number of years ago that the famly bought a home in West Ripley where she had lived since that time and was a highly esteemed woman who had a wide circle of friends and admirers.
