Information: The Rev. Carl L. Pignato, 84, of Ripley, died March 23, 1988, at CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston.  He was born in Villa Rosa, Italy, a son of the late Giovanni and Jiacomina Pignato. He was a Church of God clergyman for 50 years, and a member of the Church of God of Medina.  He was the speaker on the Old Rugged Cross Hour.  He was a retired chief clerk of the C&O Railroad, South Charleston, and a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.  He is survived by one son, Carl W. Pignato of Ripley; three daughters, Barbara E. Pauley of South Charleston, Elizabeth P. Saville of Covington, VA, Jiacomina (Jackie) Hammack of Ripley; three brothers, Joseph Pignato of Dunbar, Charles Pignato of Tequesta, Fla., James Pignato of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; four sisters, Jenny Helmick of Dunbar, Angie Blizzard of Jupitor, Fla., Congie Kessler of Miami Beach, Fla., Mary Berry of St. Albans; five granchildren; one great-grandchild.  Services were Saturday at the Dunbar  Church of God, with the Rev. Larry Thomas officiating.  Burial was in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
