Information: RIPLEY - Carl William Pignato, 74, of Ripley, born July 7, 1929, a son of the late Carl and Lanora Pignato, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, following an extended illness.  He was a 1948 graduate of Dunbar High School and also a graduate of West Virginia University with the class of 1950.  He proudly served his country as a Sgt. First Class in the Army during the Korean War.  He retired from Ravenswood Aluminum with 38 years of service.  He was a loving husband and a terrific dad, but above all this, he was a child of the King.  He also attended Fairplain Union Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth ""Betsy"" Saville and a nephew, Leon Saville.      He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Freda M. Casto Pignato; son, William J. Pignato of Ripley; sisters, Barbara Pauley of South Charleston and Giacomina ""Jackie"" Hammack of Ripley; and several nieces and nephews.  A funeral service was held Saturday, June 26, 2004, at the Fairplain Union Church with Pastor Gary Ditoto, Pastor Carl Chambers and Pastor Charles Cavender officiating.  Burial followed with military graveside rites provided by the Jackson County Veterans Organizations in the Moss Chapel Cemetery, Jim Ridge, Jackson County.
