Information: Elda Preston Peters the eldest son of J. W. and Ellen Peters, was born June 28, 1897. He was reared to young manhood in the community where he was born. He received a certificate and taught one year in the schools of this county. In April this year he moved with his parents to Newell, where he was soon stricken with measles followed by pneumonia, which quickly developed into tuberculosis. While sick he wanted to come home and August 17 the family moved back to their former home where all that loving hands and hearts could do was done, but to no avail. He died September 14. He is survived by his parents and one brother, one sister, and a host of friends. He was a loving son and brother, always thinking of the welfare of others before self. The funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. I. N. Smith Saturday afternoon. The burial was at the McPherson cemetery. Those present from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Spear of Newell, Mrs. J. W. Young and daughters of Pee Wee, and E. J. Smith and son of Liverpool.
