Information: Nelson Elwood Payne, 65, of Gay, died Friday at home after a short illness.  He was a retired gas driller.  Survivors include one brother, Rolin of Gay and three sisters, Elva Walker and Reva Tolley of Ripley, Janet Butt of Kennesaw, GA.  Services were Monday at Vail Funeral Home.  Burial was in Parsons Cemetery, Gay.
