Information: Funeral services for William Alva Patterson, 81, of Navarre, Ohio, were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the Vail funeral home in Ripley with the Rev. Earl Seaman of the Cottageville Methodist Church officiating. He was born at Portland, Ohio, Jan. 7, 1884, a son of the late Lemuel and Anna Noble Patterson. He was married to Florida Belle Click who died in April, 1954. Surviving are one son, Waverly W. Patterson and three grandchildren, Bruce, Patsy, and Robert, all of Navarre; three sisters, Mrs. Robert R. Click of Parkersburg, Mrs. Edward Durst of Cottageville; Mrs. George Kelly of New Brighton, Pa.; one brother, Delva Patterson of Akron, O. Two sisters are deceased. He was a former resident of Cottageville, and a member of the Fairview Christian Advent Church near Cottageville. While living at Cottageville, he was a member of the Union I. O. O. F. Lodge and a charter member of the Cottageville Rebekah Lodge. Mr. Patterson, who was employed by the Timken Roller Bearing Company of Canton, Ohio until his retirement, died Friday, Jan. 15, after a long illness. Interment was in the Blaine Memorial cemetery at Cottageville.
