  <p>Information: Herbert Coy Patterson, 71, Roanoke, Va., died Monday morning at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.  Patterson was born in Jackson County, a son of the late James and Emma Hupp Patterson, Sr.  He was retired from O. Ames Co. after 38 years of service, was a veteran of the United States Navy and had resided in Virginia for three years.  Surviving are his wife, Dolly Reynolds Patterson; stepmother, Dessie Patterson of Pomeroy, Ohio; son, Bruce Patterson, Greensboro, N. C.; daughters, Sandra Wilson of Greensboro, N. C., Darlene Sink of Parkersburg, Karen Laurnoff of Roanoke, Va., Terri Jenkins of Petroleum, Tammie Patterson and Rhonda Patterson, both at home; sisters, Azeline Smith of Parkersburg, Anne Boso of Portland, Ohio, Sue Leep and Lucy Rexroat, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, James Patterson and Delbert Patterson, both of Portland, Ohio; five grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Coy Patterson, Jr.; three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren.  Arrangements were incomplete at press time at the Franklin and Son Funeral Home, Parkersburg.</p>
