Information: William D. Parsons, 75, of Gay WV, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at home, after an extended illness.  He was born March 29, 1936 in Prenter, Boone County, and was the youngest of 10 children born to the late William Aultice Parsons and Della Florence Lanham.  He was also preceded in death by brothers, Nathan, Oshel, Hansel, Havern, Lawrence and Darrell Parsons; sisters, Dessell Campbell and Bernice Randolph; son, Billy Eugene Parsons; and grandson, Derek Parsons.  Bill was a retired general contractor.  He was an avid coon hunter and CB radio operator who was known as Atom Bomb to his CB friends.  He was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church and the Jackson County Coon Hunters Association.  He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends who love him.      Bill is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn Burdette; sons, Michael (Dora) Parsons of Gay WV, Darrell Allen (Rhonda) of Timberlake NC and William David (Peggy) of Gay WV; daughters, Teresa (Andy) Williams of Kenna WV, Virginia Christine Parsons of Gay, Brenda (Lenny) Bess of Gay and Debbie (Zonnie) Burnside of Eleanor WV; sister, Bonnie Gunnoe of Dunbar WV; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.  A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 2 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley WV, with Pastors Danny Williams and Bill Holley officiating.  Interment will follow in the Parsons Cemetery, Gay WV.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  The family would like to thank all of the hospice workers for their special care.
