Information: INSURANCE OFFICIAL'S FUNERAL SUNDAY - Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Epworth United Methodist Church for Ripley native Staats Parsons, 64, who died Thursday in the West Virginia University Medical Center.  Mr. Parsons had been transferred to the medical center from Jackson General Hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks.  He was area manager for the Merchants and Businessmen's Insurance Company.  Mr. Parsons was born July 28, 1913, in Ripley, a son of the late T. Clayton and Mamie Staats Parsons.  He was a member of the Ripley Lodge No. 16 AF & AM and was the secretary of that lodge for 21 years.  He was also a member of the Shrine of the Nemesis Temple in Parkersburg and was a member of the Royal Order of Scotland and of the Eastern Star, Ripley Chapter No. 17.  He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Euna Parsons, Ripley; one daughter, Mrs. Carolyn Jane Donelson, of Lauderhill, Florida; and one grandson, David Matthew Donelson, also of Lauderhill.  The Revs. Ronald Brooks and William Eaton and the Rev. Dr. Truman W. Potter officiated at the service.  Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery.  Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, was in charge of arrangements.
