Information:      Roscoe Leonard Parsons, 85, of Ripley, died Thursday in Jackson General Hospital after a long illness.  He was born April 5, 1897 in Jackson County, West Virginia a son of the late Arch A. and Cora B. Gibson Parsons.  He was retired from Star Gas Co., Charleston, and a retired farmer.  He attended Stonelick Church and Calvary United Methodist Church.  Surviving wife, Ethel Vannoy Parsons, daughters, Mrs. Mamie Skeen of Kenna, Mrs. Mildred Hunt of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Juanita Skeen of Vienna, Mrs. Monnie Landis of Ripley; brothers, Cleo of Vicers, Winford of Charleston, Richard of Kenna; sisters, Mrs. Esta Parsons and Mrs. Vada Smith, of Charleston, Mrs. Wavie Shields and Mrs. Ollie Harris, of Ripley, Mrs. Ermie Casto of Kentuck, eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.        In addition to his parents he was proceded by a son Dale, and one daughter, Gladys Parsons Jordan; a granddaughter, Angela Renee Jordan; son-in-law, Franklin Skeen.       Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. William Eaton officiating.   Burial will be in Jackson Memory Gardens, Cottageville.        The family suggests memorial donations be made to Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home
