  <p>Information: Martha Elizabeth Parsons, daughter of Samuel and Malinda Parsons, was born August 28, 1848, departed this life February 17, 1923, aged 74 years, 3 months and 19 days.  She was born in North Carolina and came to Virginia (now West Virginia) at the age of six months. Her brothers and sister, Dr. T. W., Eli, Jesse, Charles Simmons and Mrs. Pitchford have all preceded her to the great beyond.  She was united in marriage to Henry Parsons, October 10, 1865, and to this union were born eleven children, five boys and six girls:  T. W. Parsons and Mrs. H. P. Donnelly, of Charleston; Loyd E. Parsons of Dunbar; Mrs. Parker Rollins of Sissonville; Mrs. M. U. Hysel, of Ripley;  E. E. Parsons of Kenna; W. P. Parsons and Mrs. J. W. Brown, of Given; O. O. Parsons of Fairplain; Mrs. B. M. Buckalew of Akron, Ohio; and Luverna Parsons, the latter having preceded her to glory one year ago.  She was converted at the age of sixteen years and joined the United Brethren Church, continuing faithful to the end.  The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wesley Garrison of Leon, and the body was laid to rest in the Fairview cemetery to await the resurrection morn.    (from the compilation of Betty Kessel McIntyre)</p>
