Information: Marsall Roger Parsons, 86, of Kenna, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, April 22, 2007. He was born October 19, 1920, a son of the late A. Roy and Virgie Mangus Parsons. Marshall served his county as a U.S. Marine during World War II and was stationed on the USS Wakefield. He made 26 trips across the Atlantic Ocean taking troops to Europe and bring back German Prisoners. He was also a farmer and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Glenda Casto Parsons of Kenna; daughter, Aleta Parsons of Kenna; son, Stanley Parsons and wife Karen of Chattanoogo, TN; grandchildren, Curt Parsons and Amanda Blizzard and husband Lee all of Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Parsons and Laura and Anne Blizzard; sisters, Willadeen Poling of Ripley, Cathleen Burdette and Ruth Burdette, both of Akron; Ruby Hersman of St. Louisville, OH, and Janet Boggess of Kenna; brother, Paul Parsons and wife Brenda of Millwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Mayford and Rhondus Parsons. Services will be held tomorrow, April 25, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor David Spencer offciating. Burial will follow in Grasslick Cemetery, Kenna. Friends may call today, April 24, 2007, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
