Information: Leoma Ida Parsons, 92, of Ripley, passed away March 4, 2015 at home following a long illness. She was born October 3, 1922 at Kenna, a daughter of the late Bailey and Ora Landis Raines. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church. She loved being with family and enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening and traveling. She is survived by daughters, Sue Rhodes and her husband Jack of Kenna, Rita Holley and her husband Doug of Ripley and Debbie Cossin of Ripley; sister, Madeline Burdette of Cross Lanes WV; sister-in-law, Belle Raines, of Kenna; grandchildren, Sheryl Rhodes (Buck) Hoyt, Tonya Roberts (Lester) Raines, Sonya Roberts (Scott) Cunningham, Arthur (Brenda) Cossin, Ronnette Roberts (Mike) Lawrentz, Tammie Rhodes (Terry) Snyder, Scott (Amanda) Rhodes, Brian Cossin, Jo Cossin and Melissa Roberts (John) Clendenin; 21 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Guy Arthur Parsons; a son, Stephen Arthur Parsons; brothers, Holbert Raines, Hoyt Raines, Donald Raines, Bailey Raines, Jr. and Carl Raines; sisters, Norma Chancey, Leota Peiton, Beulah Mullins and Emma McAtee; and a great-grandson, Arthur J. Cossin, Jr. Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. (today) Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Jeff Keffer officiating. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery, Kentuck. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
