Information: Virginia Powers ""Granny"" Bledsoe, 89, of Ripley, died Saturday, December 29, 2001, at her home following an extended illness. She was born September 18, 1912 at Huntington, and was the daughter of the late Joseph Draper and Ida Bailey Powers, ""Granny"" was a homemaker and a seamstress for Juanita's in Huntington.  She was a member of the Huntington Southside Methodist Church and a 71 year member of the Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.  She is survived by her daughter, Lois Bledsoe Winters and son, Joseph ""Ike"" Bledsoe of Ripley.  She was the loving grandmother of nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, David Bledsoe, her husband of 63 years, Elba ""Doc"" Bledsoe; and brothers, Gene Powers and Joseph Flynn Powers.  Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday, January 2) at 11 a. m. at Vail Funeral Home in Ripley, with Dr. Ken Krimmel officiating.  Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Ridgelawn Cemetery in Huntington.
