Information: RIPLEY - Larry Eugene Parsons, 59, of Ripley, went home to be with his Lord and Savior following a short illness on March 22, 2002, at his home.  He was born Sept. 18, 1942, in Charleston, son of Belle Skeen Parsons and the late George Winferd Parsons.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He was retired as a maintenance mechanic at F.M.C.  He was a member of WV Jaycees, where he was a senator, past president of Ripley Little League, past vice president of Ripley High School Athletic Boosters.  In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 36 years, Reta Gale Dillon Parsons of Ripley; son, Larry E. ""JR"" Parsons and daughter-in-law, Stacy M. Parsons of Cottageville; brother, Gary W. Parsons of Given; and a sister, Olivia ""Libby"" Elmore of Centralia; three grandchildren, Emily, Dylan, and Ryley Parsons, all of Cottageville; nieces Yvette Welling of Given, Brandi Nelson of Virginia; and nephew, Michael W. Clark of Winfield; and many great-nieces and nephews and friends.  Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2002, at Ripley Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Gerald Sayre officiating.  Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Vail Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Vail Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
