Information: Joseph Lemuel Parsons was born August 27, 1878 at Longdale in Mason County and died September 17, 1945 at his home near Cottageville, age 67 years, 20 days.  He was the son of Charles and Susan Greathouse Parsons, who preceded him in death a number of years ago as did a brother, Edward of Meigs County, Ohio, who died August 5, 1943.  He is survived by two brothers, Frank Parsons of Bloomington, Ill. and Henry Parsons of Woodburn, Ind. and two sisters, Maude and Beady Parsons at home.  Also he had eight nephews and a number of other relatives together with a host of friends all of whom will mourn his loss as he was a good neighbor and a friend to all.  He bore his afflictions with geat fortitude and patience and his passing over to the other shore caused him no fear, for he said he was ready to go.  Thus:  Death had written finish to this one career who by friends and relatives was held most dear.  Burial was in Blaine Memorial Cemetery.   (From handwritten obiturary-Ada Ruth Sayre Collection)
