  <p>Information:      Joda Parsons, 80, Gay, died Sunday, January 29, 1985, at his son&#39;s home in Ripley.  He was born April 11, 1905 in Jackson County, a son of the late Hood and Jeannette Staats Parsons.  He was a retired state highway employee.  He is survived by his wife, Opal Parsons, at home; two sons, William C. Parsons, Ripley, Eddie H. Parsons, Norton, Ohio; three daughters, Pauline Matheny, Ripley, Phyllis Carano, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Jacquelne Brown, Greenville, N.C.; two brothers, Johnny Parsons, Ravenswood, Rolla Parsons, Gay; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Vail Funeral Home in Ripley with the Rev. John Jones officiating.  Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery at Gay. </p>
