Information: FUNERAL HOME FOUNDER SUCCUMBS - Herbert F. Parsons, Sr., 81, of Charleston, founder and former owner of the Parsons Funeral Home in Dunbar, now Keller Funeral Home, died Wednesday in General Division of the CAMC. He was the father of Edison J. Parsons, owner of Parsons Funeral Home in Ripley.  He was born at Rockcastle and lived in Putnam and Kanawha counties most of his life.  Mr. Parsons was a retired employee of the State Treasury Department, was a retired farmer, businessman, grocery store operator and oil and gas producer.  Mr. Parsons was a former president of the Dunbar Lions Club and was chairman of the Democratic party in Jackson County in the early 30's.  He attended the former E.U.B. Church.  Additional survivors are his wife, Bessie; another son, Herbert F. Parsons, Jr. of Marietta, Ohio; daughter, Mrs. Alberta Board of Hickory, N. C.; sister, Mrs. Corda Parsons of Columbus, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.  Service was held Friday in Parsons Funeral Home, Ripley, with the Rev. William Eaton officiating.  Burial was in Fairplain Cemetery.
