Information: HERBERT PARSONS KILLED FRIDAY - Funeral services were held at two-thirty Sunday afternoon at the Alpine church near Gay for Herbert F. Parsons, 39 years old, who was killed Friday night when struck by an automobile near the TNT plant in Mason county. Relatives explained that the car in which Parsons and others rode to work had failed to start and he was pushing it along the highway when he was struck by another car driven by the wife of one of the superintendents of the plant. He died in an ambulance while on his way to a hospital. He had worked at the plant since last March. The driver of the car which struck him was Mrs. A. B. Romito, officers said. Parsons is survived by his wife and six children, Violet, Mary Alice, Betty Janet, Garnet, Louise, Romie Leo and Ronnie Lee; his father, A. N. Parsons of Evans; six brothers, C. O. of Ripley, Marion of Evans, Oscar, Edwin, William and Alonzo Parsons, all of Charleston; and three sisters, Mrs. Leah Cobb of Clendenin, Mrs. Janie Tolley of Rand, and Mrs. Dolly Cobb of Cross Lanes. Relatives here said that Parsons never was able to speak after being struck down, and that he lived only a few minutes. They said that the accident happened shortly after ten o'clock Friday night.
