Information: Glenn L. Parsons, 73, son of Lewis F. and Sarah F. Parsons, of Ripley, died Sunday evening after a short illness of a heart attack. He was a member of the Foster Chapel Methodist church for 12 years before transferring his membership to the Methodist church in Ripley. He joined the Masonic Ripley Lodge No. 16 more than 31 years ago, and was always active thereafter. He served for eight years as councilman for the town of Ripley. He was a retired salesman for the Jackson County Grocery Company and a clerk in the O.J. Morrision Store in Ripley. Surviving are his wife, Hettie Oldham; one daughter Frances Jane, at home; three sons, Adrian L. of Ripley, Franklin O. of Dunbar, Robert E. of Cleveland, O., and two grandchildren, Allen Lee of Charleston and Susan Marie of Ripley. Mr. Parsons was a devoted husband and father and was a neighbor to all. He was active in all religious groups and interested in everything for the betterment of the town and community. He will be sadly missed by the many friends and acquaintances that knew him. Services were conducted at the United Brethren Church by Rev. Fuqua and Rev. Hicks at 2 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon and burial was at the Otterbein cemetery at Evans.
