Information: Geraldine M. Parsons, 88, of Evans WV, passed away April 17, 2013 at Eldercare of Ripley, following a brief illness. She was born November 12, 1924 in Ripley WV, a daughter of the late James Thomas and Minnie Samantha (Reynolds) Casto. Her husband, Clyde Edwin Parsons, brothers, Archie A. Casto, George L. Casto, James O. Casto, and sisters, Permelia Cox, Freda Pringle, and Virginia Sayre, also preceded her in death. She was a former legal secretary, superintendent of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, trustee for the Otterbein Cemetery Association, and 4-H Leader. She attended the Evans Church of God and the Calvary United Methodist Church, John 3:16 Fellowship. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and cooking, and was praised for her apple pies, pound cakes, and especially her deviled eggs. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Wanda Parsons of Kingwood, and Lester A. and Robbie Parsons of Evans; daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Layle Lawrence of Mt. Morris PA, Vanessa and David Rothrock of Ripley, and Jaris and Kevin Cummings of Evans; sister, Marie Mose of East Liverpool OH; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Mildred (Everett) Moss of Parkersburg. Services were held on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Casto Funeral Home Chapel, Evans WV. Rev. Harless Cook and John Gunther officiated. Burial followed in the Otterbein Cemetery, Evans, with the Rev. Benjamin Riggleman officiating the committal service. Visitation was Saturday at the funeral home.
