Information: RIPLEY-Ethel Floy Vannoy Parsons, 89, died July 30, 1997, at the Charleston Area Medical Center's Memorial Division. She was born August 13, 1907, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Ephrum and Clara Jane Litton Vannoy. She was a homemaker, and a member of Hickory Grove United Methodist Church and attended Calvery United Methodist Church. She was an avid quilter. Surviving: daughters, Monnie Landis of Ripley, Mildred Hunt of Columbus and Juanita Skeen of Vienna; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe L. Parsons; one son, Dale Parsons; two daughters, Gladys Jordan and Mamie Skeen; a granddaughter, Angela Renee Jordan; a son-in-law, James Franklin Skeen; a sister, Blance Surface; two half brothers, Jesse and Charles Vannoy; and one half sister, Gladia Fields. Services will be 11 a.m. today (Saturday), Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, the Rev. Hurbert Groves officiating. Burial Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville.
