Information: A state worker who lived in Jackson County was electrocuted while working on wiring at the Capitol Complex, officials said. Douglas Clinton Parsons, 29, of Route 2, (Trace Fork), Sandyville, was killed Tuesday evening about 7 p.m., January 12, 1988, in the Department of Highways building where he had been working, Steve Nichols, assistant to the director of ambulance services said. Nichols said Parsons was killed when he touched a 270-volt live wire. Paramedics were unable to revive him when they arrived on the scene, he said. He was born July 5, 1958, a son of Earnest Harold Parsons and the late Jacqueline Lee Board Parsons Withrow. Surviving: wife, Becky Winter Parsons; daughters, Emily Ann and Lily Beth, at home; Father, Ernest ""Turney"" Parsons, of Ripley; brothers, Jeffery Dean , David Bruce and Donald Clayton (Twin), all of Ripley; grandmother, Eula Parsons of Ripley; stepfather, Robert Withrow, Ripley; stepbrother, Robert Withrow, Jr., Charleston; stepsisters, Carolyn Walker, Virginia Beach, Va., Cindy Kaib, Becky Woods, Terri Wooline, all of Charleston. Service was Saturday in Mount Hope Church of God, Sandyville, with the Rev. Creel Kerns and the Rev. Christopher Skeens officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery. Parsons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
