Information: Corrine Parsons, 95, of Leroy, passed away April 14, 2015, following a long illness. She was born March 4, 1920, in Jackson County a daughter of the late Dorsey L. and Ivy Winter Miller. She was a 1940 graduate of Ripley High School and following high school worked in Akron, Ohio during World War II building airplanes for the war effort. She and her husband, Edwin O. Parsons, along with their son, Charles, owned and operated the Parsons General Store, The Parsons Angus Farm along with Parsons Motor Sales, which today is the oldest auto dealer in Jackson County and at one time was home of the Studebaker dealership. She and her family received the Western Soil Conservation Farm Family of the year award. Corrine attended the Millcreek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Edwin Otmer Parsons; a sister, Hazel Miller; and brothers, Herman Miller and Dalton Miller. She is survived by her son, Charles E. Parsons of Leroy; sister-in-law, Pansy Miller of Millwood; special niece, Marcella Miller; and a special cousin and friend, Marie Easter, whom always visited and was always concerned for Corrine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The committal service was held at Baptist Grove Cemetery.
