  <p>Information: Avelena F. ""Jividen"" Parsons, 78, of Ripley, died Monday, July 15, 1996 at Eldercare of Ripley, following an extended illness.  She was born December 2, 1917 at Rockcastle, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Iva Little Jividen.  She was co-founder, along with her husband, Edison J. Parsons, of the Parsons Funeral Home, which was established in 1946.  She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Sunday School teacher, 25 year member and an honorary member of the GFWC Woman&#39;s Club of Ripley, Paradise Rebecca Lodge of Ripley #19, Charter member of the Dunbar Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #133, and active in Friends of the Library.  She is survived by her husband, Edison J. Parsons; one son, Edison H. ""Eddy"" Parsons of Ripley; one daughter, Judith Parsons Miller of Ripley; four sisters, Marie Buckalew, Dessie McCallum, Dolly Fulknier and Janie McCarty all of Dunbar; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Emory Jividen and Lindy Jividen and one sister, Lura Gravely.  Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Calvary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Hubert Groves and the Rev. Herman Robinson officiating.  Interment will be at the Fairplain Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home and one hour prior to service at the church.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the Calvary United Methodist Church Building Fund, 205 Court Street, Ripley WV 25271.</p>
