  <p>Information: Alva D. Parsons, born February 23, 1906, died July 28, 1971, at his home in Melbourne Beach, Florida, of a heart attack.  Formerly of South Charleston, where he was retired from Union Carbide, Mr. Parsons was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and belonged to the South Charleston Lodge No. 168 A.F. & A.M.  Survivors:  wife, Opal Childress Parsons of Melbourne Beach; a son, Frank, with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam; sisters, Mrs. Georgia Hileman and Mrs. Grace Lowers of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Mrs. Erma Jividen and Mrs. Olive Ely of Nitro, Mrs. Hazel Carney of Leon; brothers, Londis of Nitro, Chester of Given, George W. of Charleston.  The Brownlee Funeral Home in Melbourne was in charge of arrangements.</p>
