Information: LONG ILLNESS PROVES FATAL. Funeral services for Alexis F. Parsons, 64, were held from the Ripley E.U.B. Church Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Lejeune Lewis officiating and the burial under the direction of the Parsons mortuary was in the Fairplain cemetery. Mr. Parsons died at his Parkersburg home on Thursday morning after a long illness. His condition had been critical for some time and death had been expected. He was a native of Jackson County and formerly lived on Parchment where he engaged in farming before going to Parkersburg. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Nannie Barker Parsons; one son, Carl of Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Hazel Zook, Mrs. Pauline Gardner, and Miss Patti Parsons, all of Hollywood, Calif.; four brothers, T. Clayton Parsons, W. King Parsons, and F.W.D. Parsons all of Ripley, and Lovell Parsons, Jr., of Baltimore, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Dorsey of Point Pleasant; his stepmother, Mrs. Mary King Parsons of Ripley, and two grandchildren. NOTE: Mr. Parsons, was born February 14, 1889, a son of Lovell Minor and Cordelia Staats Parsons. He died May 30, 1952 and is buried in the Fairplain Cemetery.
