Information: Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Parrish, 83 year old widow of the late H.H. Parrish, were held from the Hereford church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. Carder and Rev. Harpold in charge and burial was in the Parrish family cemetery.  Mrs. Parrish died at her home near Hereford on Wednesday afternoon after an illness of several weeks.  Her condition had been critical for several days and death had been expected.  She was born at Reedy on Feb 10, 1857, died Sept 18, 1940, age 83-8-8, a daughter of Albert E. Cain and Mary Corbett Cain of Reedy, Roane County.  She was married to H.H. Parrish on Nov 10, 1873 and spent the remainder of the life in the Hereford community.  She was a member of the Methodist church and the American Auxiliary.  Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. C.O. (Flossie) Shinn of Ripley; Mrs. S.L. (Esther) Crawford of East Liverpool, and Mrs. Holly (Clara) Young of Quincy; five sons, Cad H. Parrish, Hereford Parrish, and Camden O. Parrish, all of Parkersburg; Edward Lee Parrish of Windy, and Gay O. Parrish of Beckley; 38 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.  The husband H.H. Parrish, Tennie Parrish Nuzum, Orton Parrish, Charley Parrish, and Foster Parrish preceded her to the land beyond.
