Information: John W. Parrish, 61, of New York City, formerly of Spencer, died Wednesday in Stoney Brook Hospital, New York, after a long illness.  He was born in Spencer, a son of Merlie Camp Parrish of Ravenswood and the late John C. Parrish.  He was a Methodist, an Army veteran of World War II, and was a registered psychologist.  He is survived by two sons, John C. Parrish and John Richard Parrish, both of Chapel Hill, N. C.; and one daughter, Cassandra Parrish of Chapel Hill.  Graveside services were Saturday at Spencer Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Sam Starling officiating.  Vandale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
