Information: Betty Marie Murrey Wilson Parrish, 88, of Sandyville, passed away December 6, 2011 at Eldercare of Ripley, following a brief illness. She was born September 17, 1923 at Ravenswood, a daughter of the late Frank A. Murrey Sr. and Bernice Currey Murrey. She was a clerk for many years at the Lester Rexall Drug Store. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 15, the Sandyville VFW Women's Auxiliary No. 3488, and a member of the Lockhart United Methodist Church where she was active in the Mary Elizabeth Circle Quilting Group. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lyle Dean Wilson and her second husband, Edward F. Parrish, and brothers, Robert Murrey and Carl Surface and son-in-law, Hobart Pence. She is survived by a son, Larry Dean Wilson and his wife Theresa of Louisville KY; daughter, Sandy Pence of Ripley; brothers, Bruce E. Murrey Sr and his wife Emma and Frank A. Murrey Jr. and his wife Ann of Sandyville; sisters, Anita Headley of Dayton OH and Frances Balser and her husband Quentin of Ripley; granddaughter, Angela Browne of Louisville and great-grandchildren, Jessica Bott and Heather Browne, both of Louisville. Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, December 10, 2011, at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Rev. Pam Ritchie and Rev. Robert E. Underwood officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Friday at the funeral home.
