Death Notice:
Obituary Date: 1935-10-18
Information: Mrs. Frank Parrish, age 63, was found dead late last Thursday afternoon at her home at Joe's Run by the husband, who had gone to search for her when she did not come back to the house as quickly as he expected after she had gone out to the chicken house to care for her chickens. Dr. C. Royal Kessel, County Coroner, said that death was caused by a heart attack. Mrs. Parrish told her husband that she was going to a neighbor's house and would close the chicken house door when she returned. Evidently she decided to close the door before going because she had never visited the neighbor and was found dead by the door she had gone to close. She had been in poor health for some time but was able to be about and members of the family said that there was no indications that her condition was worse than usual. The funeral services were held at the Herman church on Sunday and interment was in the Hereford cemetery. Mrs. Amanda Melvina Piersall Parrish, wife of Frank Parrish, and daughter of John and Catherine Piersall, was born at Grandview, Putnam County, January 5, 1873 and departed this life October 10, 1935, aged 62 years, 9 months, and 10 days. She was united in marriage to Frank Parrish February 28, 1892 and to this union were born seven children. One son preceded her to the great beyond. She is survived by the husband and following children: Mrs. Otho Hawk of Sandyville, J. E. Parrish of Parkersburg, Stephen Parrish at home, Mrs. J. C. Smith and Mrs. Pearl Moore, and Jennings Parrish, all of Akron, Ohio. She leaves 18 grandchildren, four sisters and four brothers and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. She was converted in early life and united with the Baptist church and later united with the Herman United Brethren church of which she remained faithful until the end.
