  <p>Information: Maxine Forest Allen, 81, of Greensboro NC, died September 16 at her residence. A native of West Virginia, she had lived most of her life in North Carolina.  She was very active in many sports including bowling, tennis and basketball.  She was inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame in 1973 and was the U. S. Champion Duck Pin Bowler. In 1963, the City of Greensboro honored her by having a Maxine Allen Day and the Mayor presented her with the Key to the City.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Maude Starkey Allen and her father, Winter Allen.  She is survived by several cousins, including Bonnie F. Starkey of Ravenswood.  Burial was at the Maplewood Cemetery in Durham NC.</p>
