Information: Lysander Palmer, 69, of Mayer, Ariz., died in the Veterans Hospital, Prescott, Ariz. Feb. 15, 1987, after a long illness. He was born August 14, 1917, in Sandyville, a son of the late Grant and Ida Palmer. He had lived in Arizona after retiring from military service, serving in the Aleutian Islands during World War II, and later serving in the European theater. He helped organize the Medical Treatment Center, for the elderly in Mayer, and was also a life-time member of this club. The VFW in Mayer draped a chair in his memory the night of the 17th. He expressed his faith and was baptized by his great-nephew, Joe Palmer, in Tucson, Ariz. Surviving are two brothers, his twin Lindsay Palmer and Elzie Palmer both of Sandyville; four sisters, Zora Kittle of Washington, WV, Pauline Sommerville of Palestine, Virginia Balis and Louise Hutchinson, both of Sandyville. Memorial services were conducted Feb. 21 at Mayer with Joe Palmer officiating. The ashes will be taken to the Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz., for interment.
