Information: Elza Palmer, 68, former Ripley and Ravenswood resident, died October 17, 1965 at Pine Grove following a heart attack. He had operated a funeral home in Ravenswood for 16 years and had been residing in Moundsville. Mr. Palmer sold his business in Ravenswood to Virgil Kyger and B.M. Chambers. Later Kyger sold his interest to Chambers. Mr. Palmer then became an associate of Vail's in Ripley. Mr. Palmer was stricken when he was assisting a cousin, Edward Palmer, a Pine Grove funeral director, prepare for a funeral. Services were held Wednesday at the Lutes Funeral Home at Moundsville. Burial was in the Haleyon Memorial Gardens at Sherrad. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Alice Taylor Palmer; a sister, Mrs. Olive Freeland of Glendale; two nieces and a nephew. The deceased was born Feb 17, 1897, in Wetzel County. He was affiliated with the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Simpson Methodist Church in Moundsville.
