Information:      Bernice E. Ankrum Painter, 83, of Ripley, died June 15, 1995 at CAMC General Division, after an extended illness.  She was born August 17, 1911.  She is survived by children, Doris Ocheltree, Donna Keller, Sue Black and Becky Keller of Ripley and Eddie Painter of Given; sister, Dorothy Weekley of Ravenswood; brother, Lloyd Ankrum of Cleveland, TN; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray ""Sam"" Painter; and one brother and three sisters.  She was a retired Jackson County school teacher, member of Calvary United Methodist Church (Ripley), Deborah Circle of United Methodist Women, Jackson County Retired School Employees and South Hill Extension Homemakers Club.  She served for many years as treasurer of the Senior Citizens Quilters group and was an active volunteer with mission projects.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Emma Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund at Liberty.  Services are set for Sunday at 2 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Hurbert Groves officiating.  The body will lie in state for one hour before the services.  Friends may call from 5-9 today (Saturday) at Parsons Funeral Home in Ripley.
