  <p>Information: Ashford Eric Painter, 87, of Liverty, died Thursday, August 1, 2002, at his home.  He was born April 28, 1915, at Given, a son of the late Opha and Ethel Carney Painter.  He was employed at Goodrich Gulf Chemical and retired as an Assistant Instructor of Agriculture at the Roane-Jackson Technical Center.  He was a member of the Community Tabernacle Church at Liberty and a life member of the Chemical Valley Racking Horse Association.  He is survived by his wife, Opie Bailey Painter; two sons, Larry D. Painter and David L. Painter, both of Liberty; sisters, Velma Harris of South Charleston and Vada Kerns of Dunbar; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held on Saturday at Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home of Ripley.  Burial at Moss Chapel Cemetery, Given.</p>
