  <p>Information: ELGIN, ILLINOIS - Velma I. O&#39;Dell of Elgin, Illinois passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born October 13, 1914, in Ripley, WV, the daughter of Ada and Ira Litton.  She was a member of the United Church of God in Elmhurst, Illinois.  Survivors include her daughter, Ada Sue Hill of Elgin, Ill.; two sisters, Theo Balser and Isabelle Vandergriff of Ripley, WV; nephew, Quentin (Frances) Balser of Ripley; three nieces, Eilleen King of Ripley, Imogene Kirby of Charleston, and Marqueen Grimes of Reynoldsburg, OH; along with numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Okey J. O&#39;Dell; and sister, Elva Vandergriff.  Memorial services were held Sunday, March 24, 2002, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the home of Leo and Bonnie Priebe. Vail Funeral Home will be in charge of burial at Fairplain Cemetery.  The date is still pending.</p>
