Information: Charles Woodrow New, 69, of Ravenswood, died June 30, 1987, at the Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, after suffering a heart attack. He was born in Borderland, a son of the late Caudel C. and Hester Wellman New. He was a Protestant, a retired operating engineer, a member of the Ravenswood Odd Fellows Lodge, and a World War II veteran. He is survived by one son, Charles H. New of Big Chimney; four grandchildren, including, Debra L. Wright of Greensboro, N. C., whom he raised; six great-grandchildren; one brother, O. B. New of South Point, Ohio; two sisters, Mildred Lakin of Charleston, S. C., and Madge Smith of Huntington; three nieces, Mary E. Harmon of Elkins, Nancy R. Cole of Tuppers Plains, Ohio and Sharon K. Wells of South Point, Ohio. Services were Friday at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. David Fields officiating. Burial was in the Ravenswood Cemetery.
