Information: A long illness proved fatal to John F. Nesselroade, well known farmer of Sherman, last Friday morning at 11:15 o'clock. Death had been expected, members of the family said. He was 64 years old. Three years ago, Mr. Nesselroade was over taken by illness and as time went on his condition became no better and for some weeks past, reports had been coming from his neighbors that his condition was gradually becoming worse, in their opinion, and this idea was shared by members of his family. He was a well known citizen of that section of the county and was a devout member of the Baptist church and had been for a number of years. He held membership in the Ravenswood Baptist church. The funeral services were held from the Ravenswood church, of which he was a member, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and burial was in the Ravenswood cemetery. He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Mae Nesselroade; one daughter, Mrs. Omer C. Snider, of Parkersburg; two sons, Otho L. Nesselroade, of Baytown, Texas, and Vernon, at home; two grandsons, John and Jack Nesselroade, of Baytown, Texas. [Betty Kessel McIntyre obit collection]
