Information: Reed Folk Myers, 90, of Ravenswood, died March 21, 1988, in Charleston Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Shepherdstown, W. Va.,a son of the late William Clayton and Susie Folk Myers. He was educated in Jackson County schools and received his bachelor's degree from Shepherd College and his master's degree from West Virginia University. He had taught school in Jefferson, Jackson, and Preston counties. His educational career included principalships in Tunnelton, Rowlesburg and Gilmore at Sandyville. He also served as assistant superintendent at Preston County schools and retired in 1965 following 14 years as principal of Ravenswood High School. He was a member of the First United Church, Ravenswood, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. He was a member of the Ravenswood Lions Club. He is survived by two daughters, Susan Damron of Columbus, Ohio, and Eileen Matics of Cottageville; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Skinner of Charles Town. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Chambers Myers, in 1986. Services will be 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Straight-Tucker Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Samuel E. Starling, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Ravenswood Cemetery.
